I am wondering if anyone has tried the ProSonus Tube preamp?

I have seen some really nice DIY tube preamps but would rather not have to warm up the soldering iron.

I used one in a quest to warm up a POD XT modeler.

What I got was slight improvement with:
warmth, natural compression, level control to the amp

Howw do these work in application? Do you just plug it into the power section of your amp?

My plan is to run into a tube pre and plug the output directly into a solid state rack mounted power amp.

I use one for my Weir rig and have had no problems until recently. One side blew out. Probably just the tube. I have gotten quite a few gigs out of it and overall it sounds clean and really boosted my overall volume. They are not exspensive either.
