So im watching easy rider right now. Im in kind of a phase where im ubsessed with these kind of movies. Like festival express, and fear and loathing. Just trying to get some more recomendations on other movies like this. thanks

If you are looking for thre greatest comedy ever made, then that would be Caddyshack! If you disagree with that then its Animal House

Movies like Easy Rider or F&L? There are no movies like those two, and i"m not even sure what they have in common

For good drug movies ... Trainspotting might be a good watch, its one of my favorites

Requiem for a Dream might be the best movie on drugs ever made, though its NOTHING like F&L. Where HST showed an almost glorified drug use (at times), Requiem shows drugs at their very very worst. One of the few movies I've seen in the last few years that really affected me. When I was done watching Requiem for Dream, I felt like I got kicked in the gut.

If so, one of my favs in that category = Cool Hand Luke

I'm a bit confused as to what genre so i will just reccomend these... NAKED LUNCH directed by David Cronenberg they said it was unfilmable(whoever they are) but even Burroughs put his stamp of approval on it.

cool hand luke is my favorite movie. i like anti-hero movies. you know. the dude, cool hand luke, butch cassidy and the sundance kid, jack sparrow in pirates of the carribean series,johnny depp in blow, billy bob thorton in bad santa and bandits, fonda and hopper in easy rider. i guess this could apply to my tv viewing as well. larry in curb your enthusiasm, george in seinfeld, everyone in it's always sunny in philadelphia

the genre i see in common with Easy Rider, Festival Express, and F&L in LV is "a day in the life of a certain era" - in this case the 60's-70's.

One of my favorite films of this genre: Dazed and Confused.

For me the list is short, Ive only seen about a handful of movies in my time, and at least half of them I was paying more attention to, well, other things not at all related to the movie. For me Erin Brokovich will always be a special movie . . . .

How about Midnight Express?

One of the best films of all time IMO. Based on the true story of an American busted for attempting to smuggle hash out of Turkey. If you like Easy Rider, you should have no problem loving this movie.

Slam dunk.

I'll second Lebowski, Cool hand, and Midnight Express but for an offbeat movie try Down By Law.
Dr Strangelove also comes to mind as a great movie from the 60's. Cuckoo's Nest must also be seen.
