Hey guy's here's a link to my Banjo hangout page which I just uploaded some songs that I got from a recording that we did at one of our practices.

Now this was recorded on a single mic and we used a MP3 player to record it, its not the best quality.

This is our 3rd practice with our new Bass player and Fiddle player, so keep in mind there not playing to there most.

We recorded these songs:

Pig in a Pen - Traditional
Wild Horses - Rooling Stones

Please really want reviews, dont be to harsh.

i listened to bolton stretch and it was pretty good but there was no solo by anyone really,c'mon in bluegrass it's all about the solos between verses and instrumental flights. vocals werent bad (hell of alot better than me) and would've been fine but for a few cracks on high notes

on a side note if you want reviews you cant tell em not to be too harsh, you'd be gettin a false review

overall i enjoyed it, i'll review the rest when i get some time, keep up the good work

You and yours sound pretty damn good. I only listened to Pig in a Pen and Midnight Moonlight since those are way up there on my list of favorite bluegrass tunes. I think your band is going to get a lot tighter in time. And instrumentally it was pretty tight, but after a while the vocals and each instrument will come to align with astronomical precision and it will be straight up dope, it'll be the bomb. Ya know like Jerry's vocals on pig in a pen (on Breakdown or whatever it is) just make me listen to the song five times in a row.

Good stuff man, I think bluegrass is extremely tough music to pull off and you're doing just that so cheers.

Boltan strech we are still trying to figure solo's out for.That was our first time doing that song.

We solo in everyother song though.Bluegrass is tough to get, but again I thank you guy's alot.

what kind of banjo are you playing??. I have a 150 dollar rouge banjo and plays great and people cant beleive thats how much i paid when i play it

no offense, but the singing is very average. often off key, screechy, cracking. need a guitar player/mando/singer!?!?!? i'm serious. i love singing all of these songs. i'd like to think i am a pretty good singer.

great selection of tunes and you should only get tighter with time. have fun. i'm printing off wanted adds for musicians cuz i've gone as far as i can on my own

Thought it was pretty good, Mike. Liked the playing and agree w/ the others: you guys keep practicing and getting better, you'll be pretty damn good. Singing was eh....on some songs, anyways. I think it can improve if you work at it. Not bad, just needs work. I did not like the singing on Wild Horses though. Listened to Bolten Stretch, MM, PIAP, & WH.

I am using a 100 dollar banjo from ebay on these recording, I have a nice morgan monroe but it sometimes gets to loud, so I use this one, but I have tweeked this one alot so I got a nice sound out of it.

I am getting anotehr recording from our last practice and will upload it once I get it for all to listen, thanks again.

I listened to Pig/Midnight/Wild.

Pig I thought should be a bit faster. Something sounded fucked up with the fiddle though. First time with the fiddle though might account for that. This was the best of the 3 I thought.

Midnight was ok. Something sounds out of tune though. Maybe it's just me. The banjo? The fiddle? Maybe it's just the recording if you guys didn't notice it when you were playing. I don't like the fiddle playing on this tune though. The solo needs some work. The rolls were good.

Wild Horses--something sounds out of tune again. I think it's the banjo. I didn't like the vocals on this one.

No guitar solos?

Overall the vocals were ok (except Wild)--good enough for parking lot playing, but more work needed if you're planning on doing some sort of public performance. More practice will bring everything together. You're on your way though.
