I've been on a huge Violent Femmes kick lately, and I was wondering if anybody here was a fan. As far as I'm concerned their debut album and Hallowed Ground are two perfect albums.

Also, has anybody ever heard their song 'Lies'? I sort of forgot about it until recently, but I always liked the jab at jam bands they have in it.

"Oh no, oh no, I brought i to the end of the song and we didnt get a chance to jam! Oh no, here we go!"

i love the femmes, i've actually seen them 6 or 7 times in concert, once opening for the Dead in 91 at Buckeye Lake Music Center in Ohio. i also caught them once up in Cleveland in 95 or 96 with a big band kind of thing going on. horns, and whatnot. i love their song Country Death Song... peace, michael

Me originally being from Milwaukee have an appreciation for our home grown band. I've only seen them once at Summerfest ages ago. I tend grow fonder of them the older I get. Probably me just yearning for yesteryear.

After listening to New Times, Hallowed Ground and the Self Titled album about 10 times each in the last week

I went on amazon and bought Blind Leading the Naked and Why do Birds Sing?

should be in soon. I'll keep my hopes up that they're good.
