Buying a new amp

Maybe some of you guys can help me out a little...I'm a novice guitarist...purely a hobbyist playing for my own pleasure and jamming with my kids occasionally...I have some really nice guitars both acoustic and electric...I use a little practice amp...a fender Bullet 15 pretty cool little amp with lots of different effects but I'm looking to upgrade...I have narrowed it down to a Fender Deluxe Reverb or a Fender Blues Deluxe...my guitars are a Fender Standard Strat...Squire Telecaster...Epiphone Casino...Gibson J160e Acoustic/Electric...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I play mostly Dead...Dylan...Beatles...Stones...

IMO, one can not go wrong with a Deluxe Reverb. Obviously you'll need a drive pedal to break it up a bit for around the house volume, but as far as loving the sound that comes out of an amp every single time you plug it in, it is hard to beat the Deluxe Reverb.

Check out allenamps.com
He has some Blackface sounding amps for reasonable prices.
What I dig about his setup is that they can run on 6L6s or 6V6s which allows you some variety depending on what you need down the road.
I don't have any first hand experience but know 2 things:
1 - they get great reviews
2 - they don't come up for sale too often

It seems to me like even at a "mere" 22w, a 24" wide Deluxe might be a little more powerful and take up more space than is needed/wanted for playing in bed/living room (or whatever). fwiw, I would recommend a somewhat smaller Fender w/ an 8" or 10" speaker. Something like a Champ, Vibro Champ or Super Champ (
), or others of that ilk.

I would like yo thank you guys for all of your input...Having a fairly good sized music room filled with instruments(a dream come true)...my guitars,a set of drums,and a upright piano there was still ample room for new amp...after much thought I settled on the deluxe reverb. I went down to the local music store and played thru a a Fender Blues Jr.,a Fender Frontman(solid state) and a Fender deluxe reverb which was hard for me to get off of! so that's the one I'll be getting...I have been around the sun 54 times and this opportunity may not come around again...What the hell you only go around once...I'll be picking it up on Friday...Can't Wait...again Thanks so much for taking the time to respond..."One man gathers what another man spills."

You can't go wrong with the deluxe reverb. I have one and it's my fave. The only pedals I use with it are a compression/sustainer, a ts-9 and an occasional wah. The things sounds great, is easy to transport and can easily hang with the rest of the band. Congrats on a good choice!

Nice amp there, frankielee. Just out of curiosity, I don't see much love for VOX in this Forum. What's up with that?

I'm a vintage Fender fan with 6L6s!
Vox's ELx4s don't have the same tone for my needs.

To me, Fender = Americana and Americana = Good old Grateful Dead
Vox= British sound (still good)
