I think To Lay Me Down is my favorite... I'm doing a solo acoustic set on Sweetest Day and wanted to do a couple love songs for my sweetie

any other suggestions?

They Love Each Other! Goes good solo acoustic too.

I feel like we've had this same discussion not too long ago, but I can't manage to find the thread.

P.S. What is Sweetest day? Is it like Valentines?

well I was thinking of a "happy" love song... not one with words like "you were gone, my heart was filled with dread"

lol

I feel like It Must Have Been the Roses is a good love song...might not be what your looking for, but it's the tops.

LLR also has ‘I will sing you love songs written in the letters of your name’ which I think is a great line, though I do feel as a song it is looking at love from a love lost perspective.

I love To Lay Me Down and playing it solo acoustic and would personally go with it for one of your songs BUT is the line ‘To tell sweet lies, one last time and say goodnight’ what you want to say?

Again a great line that opens the song to various interpretations.

But it’s the great lyrics that can bring out emotion in different ways for different people and love is a variety of different emotions.

Whatever you go for good luck.

TLMD is about the last lay. Wouldn't call it a Sweetest Day song. But YMMV.
