listening to dick's picks vol. 5 ujb...getting really sad....missing jerry, the friends, the strange amazing journies, hopping on a bus...tours...getting confused and listening to the music play...

be glad you got to... well i can see all those great modern bands like, ummmm.... well.... moe's kinda good

I too have had a twinge of nostalgia...Watched th GD movie last night and got plenty of chills and tears...I really miss going to GRATEFUL DEAD shows."sometimes the songs that we hear our just songs of our own."

I miss that feeling when you 1st pull onto the lot.It was like "here we go"...

I totally feel where you are coming from ... I have spent alot of years seeking that missing magic in my life .... DSO doesn't do it for me cause it has been done before ... Moe ... well they are just loud to me .... Cheese ... well they are done and got a bit trancy for me ... the closest I have come to the energy and the scene in the lot was Yonder at Red Rocks .. beautiful people, great music, and great times ....

i miss jerry. i was too young to be into dead by myself, but my parents took me to the last two shows when i was about 10, remember a little, but have pictures, and i wish i was born earlier

thanks for the empathy folks....im usually a pretty damn upbeat kinda guy....jerry was the captain...strangest i could find....

oh well now i have to pilot my own damn popsickle stand

one of the funniest things i remember from the lot is buying some sugar cubes with captain crunch dollars at alpine in like 81 or 82 i think I ate them there sugar cubes and then watched people parachute into the show....after the band started playing i realized that every other person from their waist up was transparent, and every other person from their waist down was transparent, so the whole audience made like this checkerboard portal onto the stage....does anyone remember that echo at alpine?

oh yea! Alpine 88 was off the hook (my first tour)

Alpine '88-I dont remember the echo but I do remember the dust that was everywhere.I think they broke out a bunch of new tunes out there....

God, Alpine '88 was a scorcher. I remember that so many ticketless people showed up that the highway leading in was backed up for miles. Sadly, I had tickets for every show but only caught the first one because of work commitments.

Missing a Dead show for work was very irresponsible behavior to say the least .... Whats work ???

luckily for me im more of a bob fan and get my ratdog fill on multiple tours per year STILL!
