Best CD Burner?

I just bought a brand new cassette deck with pitch control and plan to take the best of my cassette collection and trasfer to CD.

My computer burner is dead.

Rather than buy a new computer, I was thinking I'd get a dedicated CD Burner. Anybody have any reccomendations/ thoughts on what units are best/worse??

Any real benifit to running this through a computer (ie buy new comp. instead) instead of a dedicated Burner?

My brother uses a dedicated cd burner and loves it. He can also burn on his computer, but prefers the other burner because he can burn albums, radio shows, cassettes, TV stuff, etc. He spent about $125 on one a couple years ago and the thing is still going strong. Not sure what brand, but he never buys top of the line shit, usually just standard. Mainly through J & R or something. I think they all have the kinks worked out of them by now and you could probably just go with a name brand and do well.
