just out of curiosity i was wondering how many people had more posts than me

i know there are several, JckStrw, Strummin, Shakedown, hmm there are a few more but i cant remember right now. with the new avatar system i just got to wonderin where we all were on the meter. not that it really means anything.

it would be cool to see who is in the top 10 or 15.

Yup you can check that stuff. At the top of this page, there's a link Memberlist. Click that and then on the next screen, choose sort method Total Posts, then choose order Descending.

I, unfortunately, have lost the claim on the bronze medal to a Maineiac. :)

PS - I checked that memberlist search thing and it didn't work for some reason. Unless I am retarted, which is conceivable.

hmmm i couldnt get the memberlist option to work either well, thatll give you admins somethin to chew on for an evening.

Let me see if there's a mod for the board that could provide something like that.

I did put some restrictions on the memberlist because the bots look for that. if they see it they will try to log on, so, without it, it provides a disincentive to join. I think its relatively easy to change once I find how to do it. I thought I had it set so that if you are a member and logged in you should be able to use it.

I think the newer posters are racking them up these days, the guys who have joined in the last year-six months etc... The forum is bigger now and has more going on.

I have periods of not posting anything, though I still look most days.

Here here AmyJared...I've just gotta get this off my chest, but I've been really put off by the site recently. It seems that alot of the newer members are VERY negative, not cool at all. Or it seems they are just posting to see themselves in print. It seems like the site is going more in the direction jr. high gossip than serious discussion about music and the Dead. Personally, I have been checking the site less often and posting even more infrequently. It's a shame but I seem to see less and less of the really insightful stuff from older members and just alot of silliness and/or bitching...Anyway, that's my two cents.

I agree with that.

But as more people join and the forum grows you will get a lot of re-runs and stuff thats been covered before.

theres only so much insight older members can provide, and theres only so many times you can talk about music theory. sure theres some negativity, usually presented in capital letters or long rant (you have me to blame on the latter), but not everyone can agree on everything and only post positives, the site wouldnt be too interesting. i personally enjoy debating and i think it'd be a shame if the entire site were just a theory fest

i also agree, but sometimes when were bored and dont have anything to say about guitars and such i still wanna b.s. with my rukind buddies.

one thing that cant happen here is these forums turning into anything like SpeedingArrow.net , there are some cool topics there, but for the most part a pile of crap :( except for the "members only" section.

What's really been buging me lately is the "Best This", "Best That" questions, like anyone could answer that; they're all good in one way or another. SO STOP ASKING!!!!! Thank you. Peace.
