how does keller do it?

his acoustic guitar playing is so unbelievable. he makes it sound like it's more than one guitar at once (i know he loops but i'm just talking about his solo guitar).
he does these weird harmonics and and goes up and down the neck while keeping a rhythm... god
i was wondering if anyone knew his technique?

I do not know his technique per say, but I know he often plays on a 10 string guitar. That provides some of those strange harmonics. He also sounds like leo kottke is one of his biggest influences. Keller sounds a lot like leo to me. I am not a big fan of his looping stuff live but I love when he will just sit and play a song solo on acoustic guitar. Great player and good voice. Saw him at cary st. cafe' maybe 5 or 6 years ago and the stage is so small in that place he didn't bring anything but his guitar, amp, and mic. By far the best keller show I have ever been to.[/list]

Aside from the loops, I believe you are refering to the "raking pulloffs". Example, intro to freeker, the "bouncing" notes in between the chords.
Im still trying to get figure it out myself, but if I had to guess, its almost flatpicking runs of sorts, but instead of using your typical pulloffs, he rakes his fingers over the strings to make pulloffs sound more full.
Get the DVD Sight and study that, it still aint easy.
