Ive gone to countless music stores and tried out all auto wahs. Ive looked all over the internet. What us the wah he used called?

Wah fetured in: estimated prophet, fire on the mountain, shakedown street, more that I cant think of

I herd they dont make Mutrons anymore

They do make them, I have one. It's not the original - those can be hard to find and pricey, but they are making the HAZ Mu-Tron III, which is readily available, and if I remember correctly, is around $240 or so (I think...).

FYI, the only similarity the HAZ "reissue" has with the original Mu-Tron III is the exterior. The HAZ is a totally different design by a different circuit designer, using different technology to attempt to achieve the same effect as the original.

Biegel later formed a working relationship with Electro-harmonix, which produced an updated version of the MuIII called the Q-tron ...and its spin-offs. The EH Dr. Q and its Nano version are earlier EH pedals, not Biegel designs.

So if you want a comparable envelope follower sound (auto-wah is a misnomer) you basically have three options:
1. the ORIGINAL 1970's Mu-Tron III
2. EH Q-Tron (or Q-tron+, or Mini-Q-Tron)
3. EMMA DisCumBobulator (basically an easier-to-tweak Q-Tron in a smaller pedal)

It probably is if the one you are hearing is 1977 or later. Earlier Playin jams were often dominated by "regular" wah... a ColorSound was Jerry's weapon of choice in the early 70's.
