Tone processing

I have recently started playing Mandolin quite a bit ... I have no idea really how to go about processing my tone for amplification pre direct box, any ideas or suggestions anybody ?? Strummin, yea your a cocky bastard at times but I love ya brother and you seem to have a pretty good idea about shit, and thoughts on this

HA! I love it when people call like they see it. Yes, I know in writing I can come across more aggressive than I really am but I don't mean it in a nasty way.

Before becoming a tube snob I was totally investigating the possibilities of running directly into a soundboard and avoiding an amp. This was not for tonal reasons but for simplicity and sitting nicely in the mix and feedback and all...

Well, I used this little device for a stint and it definately helped get a little warmth, depth and compression.

excellent, thanks Strummin !!! You rock , and I know your chill, I take very little seriously .... I grew up in Chicago .... been gone awhile however, this scene out here in the mountains is the best !!!!! Thanks for the advice, I am going to go and try one out ...
