Caught them at summer fest 2 weeks back and in 2 days in Chicago.
SK did a great job!! I'm psyched for Thursday!
I won't compare the two since I like them both equally and for the same reasons!

I was really hesitant about going to see Ratdog with SK because my memory doesn't have to go far back to when Ratdog wasn't a very good band ... they had gotten so tight with Karan I thought some backward steps would be taken with Karan sidelined ... then I watched the Allgood stream of Ratdogs set and .... yippie ... they freaking rocked !!!!!!!!!

Truthfully I am more concerned about sitting thru Keller.

Keller is a strange guy ... whenever he sits in with somebody he is awesome ... but left to his own devices the songs just get faster and faster like it's a race or something ...

I also saw the Summerfest show... amazing...and I'll be attending this Thurs as well!...can't help it... it's friggin' BOB!
as for the topic... I'm actually one of the "apparently" few Karan fanatics... aside from Jimmy Herring there is no better substitute for Garcia's licks
GET WELL MARK!
p.s. Kimock ROCKED me... but it wasn't "Ratdog" without Karan

keller is a very weird musician, very good with a band but by himself not really as interesting. i loved the album grass though, the duprees cover was pretty cool as was mary janes last breakdown

yeah he's weird, but I sort of dig that. I love his live shows when he's by himself. I guess I can understand where you all are coming from, though. But his versions of "Doin' that rag", "Bird Song", and Van Morrison's "Moondance"? Nobody else digs that stuff? "Kidney in a Cooler" or "In a Big Country" either? I'm pumped for the whole Red Rocks experience...pretty much a week from right now

ya just visiting old Friends during Keller, nothing against him really, he tries hard, but i can see a guy do an acoustic thing at any coffeeshop in town any day of the week.
as far as Kimoch goes hes freakin awsome!!1 ive made tons of his shows from archive, he can be a bit droning but still pretty trippy.
btw ZERO is awsome too

I was impressed by both Kimock and Keller. Kimock has good style and taste when it comes to playing.
