Wrong forum. It's obnoxious. For crying out loud we have a member's gigs forum if you took 2 minutes from your self-promoting obsession you could have easily realized that you could have simply posted one of your gigs and a link to your myspace and been in compliance.

people have strange ways of becoming popular.

I don't know if this was simply a drive by or if prospector will actually come back and contribute to this forum.

I might suggest if you want to make a name for yourself try playing some spontaneous free gigs. Try showing up at some type of gathering and play unannounced, low key, maybe a city park during the day, get in and get out. If you get shut down, be cool, don't argue, just pack up and go.

man you would think from all your responses this was a lincoln park board and not a dead board. for the record I have contributed to this site under another name, I just changed it to my bands name for shameless promotion. and on top of that i did take 2 minutes to look for the proper place to put it, couldnt find it, so i thought the everything else forum worked. i deeply apologize but let's not forget we are all here for music's sake, and there is no time for negativity in music, thats why we all love the dead right?

and another side note, I am not trying to become popular by this I just thought/hoped some fellow deadheads would like our music

You came in here looking like spammer. All it takes is doing what you are doing (engaging in the other forums) and the initial post will be long forgotten.

It was a joke, saying we wanted to be the most popular band on my space, it was totally a joke, sorry I know its hard to pick up tone over the internet. my old name was Druniverse I think, or something like that, it was a long time ago. for the record this site has been paramount in my learning guitar, I have learned every dead song on here and love this site!!! RESPECT! (ALI G VOICE)

This is by far the kindest forum I've ever heard of. However we hate spam! A better idea for you and everyone else is to make your first post more of a friendly hello. Instead of an used car act. You will find a very acceptive crowd if you try something along these lines:

"hey I've been visiting this site for a while, decided to start using the forums. I love the dead ect. ect. I am also in a jam band in colorado we are working real hard in getting our name out. Our name is ....... take a listen to our stuff on myspace. Love to hear some "kind" feedback."

you are absolutely right, I should have, and in addition, people shouldn't be so quick to respond negatively but maybe a "we appreciate your interest in our site, however we greatly frown upon spam in the wrong forum, so here is some advice..."

either way sorry to get off to the wrong foot, i like this board and the last thing I want to do is get ostracized from it lol
