Come on now who isn't happy after all of this. I think she got what she deserved.

I cant beleive they let her out for a day, she needs to stay in jail for her whole sentance, stars should not get any speical treatment.

sorry, I just would like to know peoples openion on the subject thats why its in the everything else forum.

I find it odd that people are happy she's in jail.

She's getting what she deserves but it doesn't please me one bit.

I'd bet a quarter that part of the reason she got turned over to house arrest was because she was a pain in the ass to the prison staff and required more attention than any one inmate should get thus jeopardizing the safety of others.

News is news, jerry would not be pleased to hear that an heiress was recieving special treatment. This is an everything forum and if you ask me it is an insult to all of those who are serving there time without complaint.

u think jerry would care? first of all not everything in life relates back to jerry garcia and second of i bet he would say who the hell is paris hilton or i dont give a shit or something along those lines...

but anyway who cares really, some one is in jail, big deal my life has not been affected by paris hilton in the least bit except for that simple life show is pretty funny but anyway...yada yada yada, its hard to escape this "story" on in the media so itd be nice not to have it popping up everywhere else also

i wasnt even going to reply to this one but since im drunk as hell ill start by saying i seen her porno and ive seen cups of coffe with more of a kick than that skinny hooker, she looks like the tricks i see at bonaroo lookin for an E score. actually if i was a guard at the damn hole shes in id frame her a good assault and keep her in there till trey gets to tour again. grrrr im so pissed about 10k!!!!!!!!!......very well

The overall media coverage of this, even over here, is nothing short of pathetic. Just some silly dumb rich girl pissing about.

I have to sort of agree w/ SS on this one....seeing her in jail, though deservedly, I suppose, doesn't make me happy or anything like the such.

In fact, IMO, it's a giant waste of the state's tax dollars, which comes as no surprise in this country. Too often we put folks behind bars who don't need to be, and it costs too much money to keep them there everyday. I think jail should be resereved for the real perpetrators of the law and humanity (murderers, thieves, rapists, child molestors, etc.), and maybe we should come up with another system for folks who break the law, yet not as severely as those I just mentioned, and at not as much cost to you and me.

Personally, if I lived in California, I'd be pissed that some of my tax dollars are going to put up a Paris Hilton in jail for a month or whatever. Make her pay for it herself! I can't remember what the average cost per day it is for a person to be in jail, but I know it's high enough where sometimes you wonder if it's worth it.

EDIT: I also agree w/ TS, that this tabloid BS doesn't need to be here, but as all things Grateful Dead, we'll find ways to talk about it and express our opinions on issues/matters at hand.

jerry was very big into the pop culture, he loved that stuff actually
