Any other fans around these here parts?

One of my favorites singer-songwriters. I don't think anyone has written as many sad but sweet acoustic ballads as Townes did.

If you haven't yet seen the movie/dvd Be Here To Love Me, then I suggest you order it now! At times it's heartbreaking but brilliant all through.

I really like him too. I had never heard of him until I saw Ray Lamontagne on PBS and he made a couple remarks about how great Townes Van Zandt was. Excellent singer/songrwriter and I'm a sucker for a sad song. John Prine is also real good, kind of the same genre...

If I Needed You is one of my favorites. I know many artists have covered his stuff but I prefer his own versions. So raw and full of meaning.

White Freightliner Blues is a great song.

Also, his cover of Dead Flowers that is on the Big Lebowski soundtrack is incredible...
