Hey I was just wondering if anyone liked the Byrds. I just started listining to them not that long ago and their pretty good. Not as good as the Dead but none can be. Though Dylan does come close.

I love the Byrds. They're one of my dad's favorites and I grew up listening to them. Some good albums to check out:

Sweetheart of the Rodeo, Ballad of Easy Rider, Notorious Byrd Brothers, Untitled, and Doctor Byrds and Mr. Hyde.

If you like the Byrds check out The Flying Burrito Brothers. It was a group that Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman formed after leaving the Byrds. The first album Gilded Palace of Sin is great. Gram Parsons solo stuff is awesome too.

Sweetheart Of The Rodeo is my favorite album of theirs.

My local Walmart has next to nothing as far as CD's go so I have to make do with a Greatest Hits CD and The Byrds Play Dylan. For now anyway.

Great band. One of the most important American bands of all time without doubt. Their cover of Mr Tambourine Man alone created a new sound, environment and movement of people.

There was a lot of talent in that group, Gene Clark was very overlooked and I still love McGuinn's guitar playing.

I love the byrds any chance someone has a tab for I wasn't born to follow. Eight miles high was covered a lot by "the dead" post jerry. Leo koetke also does a great version of it. The byrds rock

No, Dylan comes "Close" to the Dead. For me anyway.

I am a fan of the post Gene Clark/Gram Parsons/David Crosby Bryds. That is when Clarence White became a full time member along with Gene Parsons who played Drums, Banjo, Mandolin etc etc.
Check out one of my all time favorites 'Farther Along', as well as the one side live - one side studio Album 'Untitled'. Clarence White was one of Jerry's favorites I'm told.
