so a friend of miine just puked inside his guitar and we do not know how the hell were gunna clean it out

anybody know how to go about that one without ruining it even more?

Im not sure who would throw up in a guitar considering its usually ones most prized possesion but I think maybe if you were to turn the bowl upside down and use the type of sprayer that many use to apply weed killer to there lawns, (or something with a fine misting spray) and get the chunky remnants out then let it sloly dry indoors over the course of a week you might be okay, sans pukey scent.

I normally run mine through the dishwasher on the gentle cycle. Seriously, here's how you clean it. You raise it above your head and pound the crap out of the guy who puked in it.

What kind of guitar was it and was it purposley barfed in?

wtf?!!!How could someone do that?! Anyway, I'd take off the strings and use a wet towel. A bit of water won't hurt it. I used to live on a boat and a drunken friend dropped my acoustic in the water. I just rinsed off the salt water and dried it with a towel and let it dry for a couple of days. It was fine.

I'm wondering as well if it was done on purpose? Lame.

hmm I noticed you said your friend puked in his guitar. Well then in a gross situation like that id say Hey figure it out yourself. I dunno about you guys but hearing, smelling, seeing vomit makes me very nauseous

yea it was on accident... it was dark in the room and he was running for the door outside and couldnt hold it in... started kickin his ass when he turned on the lights and realized what it landed on

we did the towel thing and its sounding fine... the smells a different story

yeah i would suggest a gentle washing with a moist rag... take the strings off and try to get as much of the chunks out as you can, maybe a light rinse.

and don't forget to remind him of his stupidity and laugh a bit, all in good fun of course...

just curious, what type of guitar was it?? please dont say a custom something or nother

Baking powder or is it baking soda?? One of those might work, if not have him drop a load in his guitar and that should do a pretty good job of masking the smell of the puke.

not sure what kind it was... nothing special at all really. i think the brand name was delta
