Dick Dale Rocked the house again here in Cleveland last night. The man is 71 years old and can play circles around most of the punks a third his age.If you have never seen this living guitar legend I highly suggest you do so because you will see one of the better shows in your lifetime (I shit you not). The man is the consumate showman. Long live Dick Dale!

im in a beatles/floyd/retro rock cover band we had been doing jam nights, in particular at McCarthy's in Lakewood, but the barmaids hated it, theyd turn up rap really loud on the jukebox between songs just to fuck with us. My friend Drew Doman (maybe u know him) was the guy who ran it, they only paid him 100$ last week so hes gonna find another venue. he told me i could take it over if i wanted to keep it going but i dont have enuff equipment.

as far as gigs, we've a few parties lined up. my bass player owns the P.A., mics, board, and practice space. long story short he's fucked up in the head royally and wont gig. ive booked us gigs, and the last few times he copped out at the last minute and fucked us over....royally. im looking to jam with new people, these guys dont like the Dead, i got them to let me do casey jones and touch, but they never learned the song fully and i just gave up.

so its just cut and dry - run of the mill covers. our drummer is PHENOMINAL he can do jazz, reggae ,etc...i play rythm cuz i prefer it but im still better than our lead player, and the bass.....well lets just say were not covering "come together" anytime soon.

like i said im lookin to play with more people, even if it is just for fun. and i actually live in Berea now, over by the Browns training camp.

btw have you been going to the drum circles at edgewater park saturday night?

Naw, haven't gotten out much lately. I'm married with a young kid so it's hard and the bar/club scene doesn't do much for me anymore but if you were in a band I might check you out some time. Only bar I ever use to hang in Lakewood when I lived there was "Around the Corner" (Now I live in Brecksville). I'd ask to jam with you but I'm bloody awful. Let me know if you do gig sometime.
