Had the same experience as you about 3 and half years ago. Saw them in a small bar not expecting too much and was completely blown away. Fantastic songwritters. I haven't missed any of their shows around here since. Hope to see them again soon.

Ha! Don't get my wrong, I love RRE, but if you can't bust their balls every now and then, you can't really say you love a band, can you?
Two things on that song, on that particular night:
--it was a bit rough around the edges
--it wasn't the right time for that song
The place was packed and they started off jumping, but brought it down a few (more than a few notches) with this slow-ass, not ready for prime time song. I just thought the placement of the song was more wrong than anything.
But I suppose you'll make me listen to it two dozen times, so I'm sure it will be my favourite real soon. :)

i saw them play a few weeks back at irving plaza in ny. amazing amazing amazing. last time they played ny they did it at a brooklyn venue and it was so packed no one could hardly move. everyone come out to see them play cuz they just throw it down so well. harmonies, melodies.
their name is so perfect for them cuz when they are off on on of those slow jams its like they are just chuggin along on a choo choo train. no hurry whatsoever. earthy. rootsy. but somehow psychedelic!!
i gotta check out that 3-31 show u were talkin bout!
im a new member to rukind.org but been usin it for alittle bit now to start learnin dead songs on guitar. its helpful but i dont always find it to be so reliably accurate. gotta use my own ear a bit. but thats ok. its all part of the work and i hope itll just make me a better player.
