A friend of mine gave me one of these, he didnt like it. I tried to offer him money and he said no lol. So right away im not too excited about this haha. It works, its brand new. BUT!!!

This thing is rated for 600watts @ 8 ohms !!!

My 2x12 with JBL e-120's handles exactly 600watts. But damn. Does anyone have experience with these Kempler amps ? I can only imagine how many people have blown their speakers not realizing this thing is 600watts @ 8 ohms.

Not even sure i want to plug it into my 2x12 with the e120s. Feel nervous.

Someone help me understand this amp and feel comfortable plugging it into my cab lol. Because all i can do is look at it right now lol !!!

Also they claim there is a Mu-Tron "style" effect built in. Curious if anyone has tried this and what they think.

But any help would be awesome.

I've never played one, but as with any amp, it's only going to be dangerous if you use all those watts. Playing at a normal volume will be fine. And by normal, we're talking about volume comparable to a loud Twin, which should be more than enough!

I found a link with someone explaining how to get a Mu-Tron tone out of the unit and i am curious to hear it. . We shall see how this Kemper compares to my SMS unit and my current pedal setup. Id love to have a backup for my setup and that could be the Kemper if it works out . I really dont use too many effects, so if the unit can give me good Envelope, boost, OD and MXR style sounds. Id be happy as a clam to use this as a backup.

Well after a few weeks of messing around with the profiler and A/B'in it against my SMS setup.... I think i will 100% stick to my SMS setup. I really tweaked and messed around with the Profiler, but it just... sounds digital to me. Call me crazy, or maybe my ears are crazy, but couldnt get the thing to give me that same reaction that an actual tube preamp gives me. I tried the setup thru JBL e120s. Im not hating on this Kemper, but its just not for me. Pretty crazy tho where digital stuff has gotten.
