I just picked up these NOS 1980’s DiMarzio’s from this seller and seems like he has more at a fantastic price…this pickup is basically the Super II just with non adjustable pole pieces…looking forward to installing mine one of these days!

My #1 performance guitar is my '98 USA Reverend Avenger (my #1 for recording is my '99 Fender USA '52 Reissue Tele). The bridge pickup is a Dimarzio Super Distortion that I bought new in 1976. Great sounding pickup - perfect for the bridge slot in a HSS Strat-style guitar. The name is, in 2025, a misnomer. The pickup is powerful but clear. What it was designed for - and remains its best use - is to pummel the input of a tube amp, generating the distortion that way. And BTW, the two inputs on my Avenger are because I added an OBEL to the guitar. The mini toggle is to switch between OBEL on and off. It also has an onboard CAE unity gain buffer.

Confused - do you mean a Super Distortion or a Super 2? They're different pickups (I'm unaware of a "Super Distortion II"). Also, they're not boutique - they're pretty inexpensive new.

I have a Super Distortion in the bridge of this guitar of mine and a pair of Super 2s in the middle and neck slots. They all sound fine to me.

Sorry i was typing too fast.

The link above is for Dimario K 10 pickups They look nice. But are not 4 conductor.

DP101 or DB104 are 4 conductor.

^ These were the two i was looking for. My Wolf has a DP104 thats been in it for 10 years or so. Already. So found someone to do a partial trade for a DP101. Itll sound a little different than my Wolf. I am putting it into Tiger style guitar i just got.

But in the future i do want upgrade the Single coil in my Wolf. Whart do you all think >

Also if anyone finds any cheap deals on beat up, but still workin DP101 or 104's let me know. Kinda want to stock up on em ;-)

I found a cream one i just ordwered/traded with a guy for. I had an EMG SA id had since the 90s. It was brand new and i was NEVER gonna use it. So i traded that to him and $ for the pickup. Its a cream one, so i think itll look cool to have a cream humbucker in the middle of the black ones. WOOT WOOT!

Thanks yall. Ill def take some pictures for you all to see when its done ! :-)
