Like the title says, we are getting out of the Bay Area and moving to Grass Valley, near Nevada City. Obviously, I'll be looking for some new people to play with. Anyone on this forum live near there?

The natural beauty is part of it. We’ve been talking about getting out of the Bay Area for a couple of years. Too crowded, too expensive, and my wife would prefer a warmer climate. (Of course warmer in the summer translates to colder in the winter). So when our landlord recently told us he wanted to move back into the house, we decided it was time to make the move. The new place is in the woods, over 2600 sq. feet, and has a huge downstairs room that will make a perfect comfortable studio. It also has a separate building on the property housing a small office. I’ll be cutting rent by more than half. I’ll essentially be hanging out a shingle and developing a whole new local practice. A little scary, but exciting.

By "hanging out a shingle and developing a whole new local practice," do you mean your vocation (job) or avocation (music)?

My BIL and his family live in Folsom. We occasionally drive up from Moorpark to visit them.

My hope is to pick up some local cases and work part-time. I’ll be less than 20 minutes from the county courthouse. And many courts out here allow Zoom appearances. Folsom is about 50 minutes away. You are more than welcome to come on over and jam while you’re in town. As for generating an income through music, I refer you to the below!
