My band "Dead Enough" will be playing this Friday,May 3rd, at The Bistro in Hayward. On May 22nd we will be at Baltic Kiss in Pt. Richmond. Here's a video from our last gig a couple of weeks ago. It's a mashup of "Come Together" and "West L.A. Fadeaway".

My band, “Dead Enough”, will be playing on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley tomorrow, Saturday afternoon, at the annual holiday street fair, 1-5 p.m. Grateful Dead music in the street on Telegraph … does it get any better?!!

I turn 70 tomorrow. How the f**k did that happen! I’ll be celebrating Saturday night with my band, Dead Enough. Come on by if you find yourself in Berkeley, CA.

If, instead of at Point Richmond (CA), you’d gig in plain old Richmond (VA), I’d drive over to see you.

Knock ‘em Dead!

P.S. Happy 70th!

Ringo explains here how being a lefty playing a righty kit influenced his iconic drum parts on Come Together. I, personally, am a fan of making covers our own rather than trying to copy the originals precisely (e.g., Hendrix’s cover of All Along the Watchtower) and I dig your drummer’s take on Come Together. But it’s still interesting to dissect the originals.

It’s been awhile since I updated this thread. The band is still together and playing regularly. Last year’s highlights included gigs at the Oakland Ballers (minor league baseball team) Grateful Dead Night, and inside San Francisco Airport’s Domestic Terminal. My wife and I moved out of the Bay Area, but I’m still driving about 125 miles each way for gigs and monthly rehearsals.

We played last night at Retro Junkie in Walnut Creek. A semi-upscale night club with a nice big stage. Nice appreciative crowd, especially for a Thursday night. We have a private event at a resort in early June.

So today I’m updating the website and thought I’d try using AI for posters for the next couple of gigs. I must admit I was blown away at the results!

Hope the shows go great! If I were closer, I’d check them out.

I wonder what rock posters would have looked like in the ‘60s if AI had existed back then?

I suspect AI learned to do it from the 60’s posters

We moved from the Bay Area to Gold Country in the Sierra foothills, specifically Grass Valley, last October. It’s about 125 miles from our old home in Oakland. I’m still playing with my Bay Area based band, Dead Enough. At the same time I’m playing as much as I can locally. I’m playing with a country band (first gig a couple of weeks ago, another at the end of May), I sit in with a house band at an open mic every Wednesday, played with a newly forming Reggae band, and am trying to put together my own band. Grass Valley is a lot smaller than Oakland: 12,000 vs. 440,000 population. We love it here. And I’m also training to be a D.J. on the local community radio station. Come hang out in the Boomer Room with your host, Billy the Kid!
