Rick Turner passed away yesterday. He was a luthier extraordinaire who helped build Alembic’s early guitars and basses, worked closely on the Dead’s Wall of Sound, basically invented the neck-thru “hippie sandwich” guitar, and was an iconic part of the S.F. Music scene back in the day.

One of the Alembic originals- he'll be missed.
