I came across a bootleg from 1976, at Buffalo, NY. I believe it was in the spring, maybe in May of that year. The entire show was clear perfection, but the Help/Slip/Franklin's Tower is the best I have ever heard. They played these songs for the first time that year at the Great American Music Hall. That version is also incredible. My band loves to play that song; even though it's relatively basic, you can jam for hours and hours...

The 70's were definitly their best years!

Buffalo really does sound like a separate planet, and yeah, by the date mkaufman is probably right: 5/9/77, not '76. In help/slip/franklin’s it feels like they’re just figuring out the turns, so the jam breathes and doesn’t go on autopilot. At rehearsal we put on this recording and someone opened https://iplbetting.guru/live/ at the same time. As a result, the rhythm section drifted off for a minute because everyone started arguing about the tempo instead of listening to each other.
