Hey all,
I want to get my bass player some kind of boost for his bass so he cuts through better with big phill tone. He’s playing a P Bass from the 90s I think, stock. What should he get?
Thanks!

It probably would be helpful for the groupmind if you told us what gear he has.

SOrry bout that. All he’s got is a P Bass from the 90s, stock. At the rehersal space we rent he plays through whatever bass amp head they’ve got, not sure. I did sneak over and crank the treble before he got to the last rehersal; someone else suggested I have him cut the low kids and crank the lows as well as the treble. I k is with guitar what a difference a clean boost can make, wondering if there’s a bass equivalent. Someone suggested an Aguilar pre amp pedal. Thoughts?

Based on your description, consider this pedal (the separate Variable Preshape Filter is designed to boost lows and highs while cutting mids).
