Was thinking of getting a rack mount Mesa Lonestar Classic. Does anyone know if I could also power an SMS preamp with it? As in switch between the 2? Override the Mesa's preamp through the effects loop possibly? Any down sides?

I use the preamp of my Lonestar and go into an MC50 for the power section. I use the effects loop out for the tap.
