maybe this should go in the build and mod section, but here it goes.. what bridges do you guys like for jerry tone for a wolf style guitar? I know he had an alembic bridge on wolf followed by a chrome plated schaller harmonica bridge. It looks like wolf was a top loading guitar. I am looking for hardtail non trem strat style bridge for this. specifically, how does string through the body compare to top loader, and do you think roller saddles are worth it? Personally, i have had good luck with strat vintage style saddles. I have never had a top loading bridge and there is much debate about them and sustain on line, some people actually claiming top loading gives you too much sustain and there is a reason strings go through the body or the trem block on strats and tele's, other's claim leo fender fixed this and top loaded his g and l bridges and realized it was better. anyway, i just want something functional, affordable, and that sounds good on a strat esque wolf type custom bolt on neck guitar.

I used a Schaller 475 (top loading, flat mount, 3-way adjustable roller) on my Tiger-style build 4 yrs ago and have been very happy with it.

+1 on the Schaller top load roller bridge. I used one on my swamp ash "Alligator/Wolf combo". Jerry's Wolf had bridge and tail piece.
On my Wolf, I used the Kluson Harmonica bridge

with the Kluson Garcia tail piece:

There are many Jerry inspired guitars and variations here:

Thanks, I ordered up the schaller roller bridge top loader, seems like a winner. It will be interesting to hear the difference between a strat and this guitar, which is electronically a strat with no pickguard and no trem block.

I love that Schaller bridge. I've got it on two guitars, I think you'll be happy with it. Good and solid.
