Hi all,

I'm doing a Jerry-fication on a Tele Deluxe and I have what might be a weird question...

The big toggle switch in the upper right that used to be the pickup selector is no longer needed because I'm going to use a Strat-type blade switch (having tried to incorporate a switch in that spot to do 3 pickups has in the past seemed to not work that great).

My question is/are: Does anyone make a large DPDT switch that will fit in that spot, where I can turn the OBEL on and off with it?
So far, I haven't found one. Does it even make sense to use such a big switch to do this? Is it a problem having the switch so far away from everything else?

Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

Just my thoughts:

I assume you meant to say the upper left for your Tele deluxe? If so, and if you were comfortable using the selector in that position, you could put an OBEL switch there, using a large DPDT switch On/On (not momentary). These are on Ebay and at RadioShack. Of course, the convenience of having the OBEL switch near the pup selector is that you can use both efficiently. For me, I will select pup configurations and turn on the effects repeateldy throughout jams, and I would not like having to go back and forth from upper left to bottom right of the guitar.

So you can drill a hole and mount a mini DPDT in the bottom right of your Tele, and use a sticker or something creative over the upper left open hole. Just think about it carefully and do what you need for structure and function.

I'm needing to do the same thing (with the open hole in the upper left) to an Ibanez MC200 that I just got, and Leo from Scarlet Fire Guitars is doing some killer customization, including filling the hole with. His rates are very reasonable: http://www.scarletfireguitarsllc.com/

So I was at the Shack the other day getting some slo-blos and I remembered that you were looking for a solution to the large switch for the OBEL, although you'll want the switch that's the On/On switch rather than On/Off/On.
