EQ or Tone-Controls?

Hey dear Deadheads!
I have a question (again  ). What would you prefer: An 3-Band-EQ or the classic 2 Tone-Controls?
As you might know, i want to build a Tiger-Style-Guitar. Style because i wanted an 3-Band EQ built in. But i don't know, if i should use only 2 Tone-Controls or not.
Whats your opinion?

Jerry got some creative tones with, say, the middle pup tone all the way down and bridge tone up. I find having control over the tone of the middle pup vs the neck and bridge pups is crucial. I guess 3-way does not provide for individual pup differences?

No, it's not invidual to each Pickup. I wantet to put the EQ before the OBEL-Output. So, you think, i should stay with the 2 Tone-Controls, right?

That's what I like. I find the essence of Jerry tone is the middle pup with the Wald buffer, Fender Twin and JBL speaker. If I need 3-band eq to get that tone then there's something wrong. Plus, I like to quickly adjust the tone ala Fender style so, yes, for me, Tiger style electronics is very important.

Ok, thank you.
First i wanted to build an "panacea". In Germany the right word is "Eierlegende Wollmilchsau". An egg laying woolmilksow. (Word-By-Word-Translation :D )
It first should have 3 Tone-Controls and even 3 EQ-Controls.
After your words, i will build an Tiger. Do you have an idea, where i can get an Tiger-Coverplate?
