Any DRRI mods suggestion's other than tubes and JBL? I have installed a K120. Sounds a little thinner than the Jensen C12K, which isn't really a bad speaker
I have seen some tone stack mods but can't find them anymore
thx

Do some searching around. I'm pretty sure that Waldo41 has a KILLER DRRI that he's overhauled into a sweet amp.

at7 in first preamp position for more headroom, my old DRRI sounded great with the 'mid pot' pull mod, tone tubby alnico speaker, upgraded the trannys to larger ones. Toured with that thing for 4 years, sounded pretty fucking great. Always seemed to be on the brink of breaking up, with the above mods, you could play around at the threshold, pretty good squishy cleans, crazy distortion when you got her hot, and breaking up.

I use my DR as a general purpose amp, so I lifted a leg on the Vibrato channel volume control bright cap. Helped out with some edgy fizz redux at lower volume. You can change spring configurations in the tank to change the characteristics your verb as well. I've swapped some tubes, and pulled channel one completely. That mid pot mod is intriguing to me. I also threw a TT purple haze in there. Unfortunately its got a nasty goblin that comes out at higher volumes so it's waiting to hit the shop. Gotta love 50 year old gear
