So #2 twin got it's new cables from AO guitars, and I finally had a chance to plug in today.

first question that might indicate the problem:

- With OBEL switch on the AO wheel box, OBEL switch on on the guitar, OBEL circuit works correctly. If I disengage the OBEL switch on the guitar, I still get sound to the amp, but the effects loop is bypassed. Is this correct, or does this indicate a problem?

FYI - Obel off on the wheel, obel off on guitar, effects work, sound works. OBEL on on guitar, no sound at all - which makes sense to me.


- Guitar sounds microphonic. pickups just aren't sounding right - neither bridge nor neck. Microphonic, but quiet - like 3/4 volume.


Going to have time to open it up tomorrow night and just hoping someone can point me in the right direction...

(You know, I might just throw a fresh battery in right off the bat here....)

That's pretty much the purpose of the "OnBoard Effects Loop"- to engage or disengage the effects loop with the flip of a switch.

So, I opened it up, checked the grounds, don't see anything loose, or shorts.....

Changed the battery.

Something is still wrong....bridge in particular is about 60% volume.

Found it....

Tabs under the tone pot were hitting the shielding....
