How do I connect two 1x12 speakers cabs up to my MC50? Both Speakers are 8 Ohm and both cabs are SSP's(with the 1/4" jack connection on each).

I would wire the two cabs together in parallel which would require a second jack (output jack) on one cab to go to the other cab. You could skip the extra output jack by running speaker wire from the first speaker directly to the other cab. Basically all it is is wiring the two cabs together as if they were two speakers in one cab.
Then you would have a 4 ohm load for the Mc50.

Sure, but you still have to wire the two cabs together and the input goes to the first cab. Just wire them in series instead of parallel. Series gives you 16 ohms. Parallel gives you 4 ohms.

I recently acquired an mc50 and just did this, using speaker wire to connect 2 1x12s parallel. Is there any advantage to wiring in series other than to acheive the desired impedance for a particular amp? I was under the impression the lower the better, but with the options available on the Mac, just curious if I would notice a difference.

You are correct, there are no advantages in wiring the speakers in series for our application.

heres one calculator, there are clearer ones...the lower the impedance the higher wattage the amp can shoot generally.
