Someone on TGP hypothesized, "5 way selector switch. I am guessing the 3 switch group is for coil splitting each individual pick up. May be the 2 switch group has to do with volume and tone switching due to the guitar having 3 knobs."

A senior member over at the PRS Forum says: three coil taps, a preamp switch and treble boost. Not sure what makes him the resident expert but it's as good a guess as any. At first I thought a piezo switch but that doesn't seem to be the prevailing opinion over at the PRSF.
