I apologize in advance if this is an odd request, but my brother is working on a build for me. His first one to exact. It's time to rout for the pups. The plan is for, SD in the neck and two Super II's respectively. He's has asked if I can somehow find a template for him to use. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about where to place the pups themselves in relation to the neck and bridge, I think there are layouts in some threads on the guitar construction and mods forum here.

I agree the Stew-mac templates are a good choice for routing one at a time. If you're using three individual pickup rings you can go this route. Since you're doing three humbuckers, I would consider making a custom swimming pool template. Here's a photo of one that I made. The other cut-out on the template is for the neck pocket, so you can disregard that. Draw out the design on your board. Clamp some straight edged wood or MDF to the board that you're going to make the template out of and use it as a straight edge for a router bearing. Route out a rectangle, or use a drill to make ears and shape it like the one pictured if you want to remove less material from the guitar body.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. ccw3432 would you be so kind as to send me the dimensions of your template? Length/width. I think that's all he needs. I plan on ordering one of Scarlet Fires p.u. rings he has here on the main page and I think we're good after that. So to speak....

3 3/8 - width (including ears)
2 7/8 - width of rectangle
