You have Bob and Jer mixed up.
I don't play Bobby's part like that. He does't drop below the 12th fret when he plays this lick. Check out VFTV III.
Peace,
~D

G#? (13 on the G)
I don't see (Downhill from here) or hear that. I also have a couple of other slight differences. But that G# is weird. I don't "hear" enough room for the 16 on the G either. Maybe I'd have to hear how legendary licks drops it in.

dr_greenthumb, I like what you've got going on there...the way I learned it off of europe 72 was pretty darned closed to what you have. (standard tuning)
----------------------|----------------13----151719
--121312--------121315|15--1312------13----15------
--------1412--12------|--12----141214----16--------
12----------12--------|----------------------------
----------------------|----------------------------
----------------------|----------------------------
--------------------|----------------13----151715
--1312--------121315|15--1312------13----15------
12----1412--12------|--12----141214----16--------
----------12--------|----------------------------
--------------------|----------------------------
--------------------|----------------------------
Bobby plays a lot of C type chords up the neck (E's and F's...etc.), and this line is based on exactly that, a C major chord an octave above open position (not to mention the F major and G major chord shapes that end each sequence).
I pick the whole thing, so I've not included any hammers or pulloffs...you can hear where he does them.

Yeah man, you and [f] have got it. I think Ed might want to change his tab as there are a couple of wrong notes (as opposed to just different voicings).
Ed, where you have:
E--|--10--12--13----
It should be
E--|-------13--
B--|----13-----
G--|-14--------
If you were to keep those all on the high E string, it would have to be
E--|--5--10--13----
which is pretty awkward

As a side note, the suggestion to barre (or partially barre) the top 3 stings at the 12th, then the 13th fret made this a lot easier for me.

i dont really think there is a "correct" way to play jerry and bobby's parts, they variated it like every show, but personaly, i prefer using blindleafs method to play jerrys part and the and the main site's method to play bobby's part.
jerrys riff on the 15

Also when i play jerrys part, i like to play it for a while then take it up to the fifteenth fret and play it up there for like a minute then take it back down and repeat when neccassary
