This is 1978. I'm thinking way too early for wireless. Could it be an effect?

Need to review 12/31/78 video to see if he's using it there too.

Whoa, that's crazy! No clue here. I've always wondered if Bobby used something like an EH LPB1 to get his OOP to come up in volume. Just a wild-assed speculation.

Looks like a buckle to me. Look at 12:55

It's on the strap behind him, not in front of him.

The earliest wireless guitar systems were introduced in 1975. The cable from Weir's guitar seems to be plugged into this device in question. It's possible that this is a wireless guitar transmitter.

I scrolled a bit, but basically watched the whole clip. It's like they told the camera men--"Whatever you do, don't show the bottom or back of Bobby's guitar." I gotta go with wireless.

Ok, I found the smoking gun! Check out the beginning of this video. Great shot at 0:11. It's definitely a wireless unit.

I guess he didn't use the unit for very long. He was wired in '79.
