Hello from Iowa City!

I'm new to this forum, and I have to say I've been enjoying the immediate camaraderie and all the informative posts. I saw my first show in '87 and caught many Dead and JGB shows. Seen a few post Jerry shows too, but not many. I have been performing in bands that play original music for the past 29 years, and finally started a Dead tribute band a year ago. It's been incredibly gratifying to be able to dig into these songs and Garcia's playing without reservation. In my original bands I've always had to work to keep the Garcia influence in my playing from overshadowing my own voice on the guitar. Now I can "wave it wide and high"!
I play two vintage Ibanez guitars that I have done a lot of modification to; a 1978 MC200 and a 1974 NT2640 (Gibson L6 copy). I play through a 65 Reissue Twin that I've souped up quite a bit.
My bands are;
The Mayflies (original bluegrass/jam rock) www.themayflies.com
The Feralings (original folk) www.theferalings.com
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MXg2wYtrOU
Winterland (Dead tribute that focuses on 60's and 70's era Dead) www.facebook.com/winterland73

Looking forward to meeting more heads on this forum!
Peace,
Stacy
