I just wanted to share. This is my band playing at the 19th annual China Cat Sunflower Festival in Jacksonville, FL this past weekend. This was our first time attempting China Cat.

Sounds neat, but......................................Barefoot!!!! Ugh! I just don't get the whole playin' barefoot thing? It's like "Hey we are hippies, and we are closer to the earth man". It's kinda gross. If it was a hot chic, then I would be all for it.

lol. It's more of a beach thing then a hippie thing. They even let people here go in to stores and restaurants barefoot, gasp!

Of course this does not pertain to "indoors on filthy floors" or the music, but since bare feet was mentioned, check this out.

http://earthinginstitute.net/diabetes/

I go barefoot as much as possible/feasible. Many good benefits.

There seems to be some cultural element that has a problem with feet. That they need to be covered and they are gross and ugly. I never understood it.

I think there may be a few extraneous variables in that study showing the relationship between diabetes and rubber soled shoes?!?! Obesity. Lack of exercise. The sale of those shoes is just coincidental compared to these major ills facing our society, and increasing the rate of diagnosed diabtetes.

Also, my feelings about playing barefoot are not swayed by a cultural norm, rather a true feeling of disgust when I see a male playing music with pasty, white feet. If anything, it is the "jam band" culture that prompts you to play with no shoes on.
