I've got about a month to go on this one... and thought I'd put it up so that if anyone is interested, you have time to have a say in some of the details.... The photos don't really do it justice yet, it's just oiled and drying, ready for the headstock inlay and finishing. The neck is Wenge, Maple, Purple Heart, Curly Maple, Purple Heart, Maple, Wenge... and the body is Wenge, Cherry, Wenge, One Piece Cherry Core, Wenge, Cherry, Wenge... 24 Frets, Curly Maple Fretboard, set neck, carved top.... I plan 3 Super 2s, brass plates for pups and cavity, Schaller Gold Locking Tuners, Kluson Harmonica Bridge, custom Brass Tailpiece, OBEL, Wald Buffer, custom Blaster with J230s, brass nut... pm me for more details.

Yes, the body, the neck, fretboard... everything but the tuners, pups, some electronics, and the bridge (although the cost of these bridges is about to drive me to make my own

I was using Doug Darling's necks, as it just seemed easier, but now that he's taking a break, it drove me back to making my own, and actually I'm glad for it... I put an extra large volute on this one to improve sustain...

Thanks, I wanted to do something dark "o) I've just been making light ones lately... the Wenge is very dark, and quite bright sounding; the neck and body blanks rang like a bell

The neck on this is pretty chunky; I like a big neck, and it could always be carved down to someone else's taste... but I find it really comfortable, as well as the body, sitting down, it sits really nicely

Is the top flat or does it have some curve on the body ? By the PUPs n controls ?

The top is carved. Where the controls are, it's mainly flat... the main volume knob is in a slope... The area around the pups is flat, and the bridge/tailpiece, but falls away conforming to the shape of the pup surround... I have the surround cut out, but the pup cutouts aren't done yet, I'm waiting to see if it ends up HHH, or HHS, or SSS, whatever... the plan was to use HHH, but it's still open at the moment.

I love the maple board. Kind of like a nod to Alligator. I'm very curious to hear how it sounds.

You say that's an oil finish? Like tung oil or something?
I've come to the conclusion that if I ever own a Jerry guitar I will have to build it myself.
