Greetings all! Hailing from NC here, 24 y/o been playing guitar for 10 years, however just recently started taking it serious and miraculously into the dead as well, heard my first dead song about 8 years ago and was hooked, unfortunately never got to see te boys live :/ i need some help figuring out where to progress in my learning im at a plateau at the moment!

What are your goals? Where are you at in your playing?

Thank you for the warm welcome, right now in my playing i know basic chords pretty decent on scales, im not very expressive in a soloing sense yet, still have the training wheels, as i am studying basic theory, id say im at a mediocre level intermediate, my goals are to play like warren, jerry and duane, i want to progress but i dont know where go begin, i get discouraged quite a bit

Mediocre level intermediate that wants to play like Warren, Jerry and Duane. I like that. Sounds familiar. Take some time, look around, the people you want to talk to are here.

One of the most productive things for developing improv skill is to find someone to play with regularly. Another guitarist, or perhaps a piano or bass. Then you can go back and forth and become proficient at leads, competent at rythym, and sensitive to listening to what another is doing. If they are a little more experienced than you all the better.
