What's up with the additional screws in the switch plate? The small brass ones look normal, but then there are two pan heads that are not counter sunk.

Sure looks like Phil has upped the ante. I thought mine looked nice from two years ago- this is a whole 'nother level. Beautiful.

Its lovely but I think if I was lucky enough to be able to afford one, I would have him put my name on it instead of Jerry's - but thats just me.

Stunningly beautiful. The wood on the back is hypnotic.

Enjoy, I have had my Phiga Tiger for two years and I still love it and it is a guitar for a lifetime. My only issues was he did not hook up the OBEL correctly and I live in a small Florida town where nobody knows anything about it to rewire, so it has not been operational from the start. Other than that I love playing it.

I love it so much that (and I can't believe I am typing this), I am considering ordering a Wolf from him. Have you seen those? They look great too!

Wald electronics has a wiring schematic for the Tiger OBEL. I wired a Warmoth body using that diagram and even for someone who doesn't know much about electronics, and not very good at soldering, it worked. You might want to take a look at the diagram and see if you can track down the problem.

I also know that Phil Gawen stands by his work and would probably do the repair if you went to the effort of sending it back. Of course, that means being without a guitar for a while...

Sweet. Ebony too. I noticed he seems to use a lot of Rosewood fretboards, wonder if ebony is expensive now or something. Big tone difference often. Nothing beats an ebony FB feel wise in my opinion.

Im guessing the larger screws attach to the actual switch and the smaller ones are for the brass cover plate.
OBEL's are really not complicated, it is easily in the teach yourself level of skill, no EEG required for sure
It is definitely an easy fix if you are motivated to spend a few hours doing homework. Take pics folks here will help.
