So I used my new Phiga Bolt I just bought off ebay for the first time at practice last night. I loved it! It's amazing how an instrument can provoke different emotions, and enable one to play in new ways just by being well made. I am very impressed and happy!

The only bummer is that I was putting an 1/8th in jack on the guitar, and the drill i was using popped through and caused chipping. I was so bummed, and I resolved to super gluing the chips on, and covering the large hole with a small brass plate, to which the jack is mounted on. And, I dripped super glue on other parts of the top and it smeared and wont come off.

I have a date lined up with a local luthier to look at it and see what he can do. It plays fine, just those slight visual imperfections drive me nuts! Phil at Phiga may take it in to fix it also?

Bottom line............Awesome guitar! Stupid me.

It's my understanding acetone will remove even super glue but I think, moving forward, DON'T TRY IT AT HOME - visit a luthier with relevant experience.

Also, for future reference superglue really isn't the best choice for gluing wood. Not only does it dry fast, which can be detrimental as you found out, but it doesn't expand and contract well with changes in humidity and temperature, which can create problems of its own. I like Titebond II wood glue, but there are a number of good wood-specific glues out there you can get at your local home improvement or hardware store.

Some for the gash ya made but enjoy your Bolt. I think Phil did an amazing job on mine. Had it since July last year and my Les Pauls have not come out of their cases since I got it.
