Does anyone know anything about the Aria Pro II RS750 guitar? This model caught my eye, appears to be an obscure partnership between Alembic and the fabled Matsumoto guitar factory hitting its golden years in the late 70’s. Seems like a really odd partnership, but perhaps Alembic were the trend setters paving the way for Fender to come to the Matsumoto guitar factory in the early 80’s.

I’m thinking this could be a really interesting vintage vibe guitar that could get that Wolf 2.0 tone in spades without the cache of being a “clone”. Curious about the quality and electronics. I’ve read the middle pick-up is “a slave” pickup which is something I’ve never come across and it also has two Q switches which toggle it on and off.

Did the Wolf 2.0 have a UGB in it or was that in the next evolution?

Check out the hardware and inlays on them. Looks period correct Novato California inspired.

I have a RS 750 and I love it. It is well made and plays great. I once said it is my favorite guitar.

Ah yes. I purchased the same on eBay last month. Just dropped it off with my tech this afternoon. I'm taking out the dummy coil and dropping in a SD quarter pounder with its own volume pot and using the three switches to toggle each pickup. Even as stock this thing rocks!

Yet another blind experiment. I'll post a vid of the results in a few weeks.

There is an RS x70 on eBay. Translucent red with two humbuckers looks totally mint. Been drooling over it. I'm a sucker for all things vintage.
