I am so $$^%ing pissed!!!

I missed this by a day, I stayed up in Franconia Notch the whole week camping with the in-laws, the wife and daughter. I saw the poster for this at a restaurant up in the notch the night before we had to head home. At least you got good weather this weekend, we got 2+ days of rain. Only got to rock climb 1 day out of 4.

River Rat, so sorry you missed it. Jerry Jam is a magical place and this year was even better!

Playing with Melvin Seals was incredible. He is the master of the Hammond. He played so well and was so kind. The band, btw, was Melvin Seals on keys, Dan Crea on bass, Aaron Martin on drums, Kat Walkerson on vocals and Mik Bondy (me) on guitar. Shirley Starks (from JGB Band) sat in a few songs as well. Here is the set list (videos and audio to come soon)

Sugaree, Mission in the Rain, Tough Mama, I'll Take a Melody, It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry , That's What Love Will Make You Do, Lonesome and a Long Way From Home, Tore Up*, Don't Let Go*, Harder They Come*
Encore: Deal

* with Shirley Starks

Melvin really jammed! I was a little worried when he played safe and reserved for the first two tunes, but halfway through Tough Mama he really dug into it and it was Swell Pedal to the Metal from there on out. So incredibly tasty and I was amazed how he could say so much and leave so much space all at once.

Mik,

Very nice recording. You're rig sounds great - almost acoustic at times.

Congrats!

Love to Kat.

Sweetness. I really like your fills b/w verses, very seamless and loose. What can you say about Melvin, competently can bring smiles in any setting, and respectful and tasteful of the other members and the song itself. Never beats you to death with his extensive skills. A master chef. Thanks for posting the vid.

Mickey Hart's son, Taro Hart recently performed with Melvin Seals in Los Angeles! It was a pretty good show. He's competing in a singer-songwriter competition, so if you want to hear what the family is up to, you can see him perform at http://songwriter.revimage.com/channels/Taro+Hart Good stuff!
