Blues Books for guitar

I was looking at 5 or 6 different "blues for guitar" instructional books. I was wonderin if anyone had an idea of a good one to pick up. From expierence, what would some of you recommend that really gives you a lot of help for the dough?

Someone else here turned me on to this book and I've been working through it for about a month now. Fantastic book.
Blues You Can Use by John Ganapes
I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Hey, thanks a lot, that is one of the titles I was looking at. I'll buy that one first. Is a CD included?

Yup, CD is included. It's mainly for electric guitar (lots of bending and such), but I only play acoustic and I haven't had any issues.

I also have been using "Blues you can Use" and am about half way through. Very good book. My guitar teacher recommends it to all his students.

Another rec for Blues You Can Use. For myself, the first book is too basic, but I really enjoy the second in the series, More Blues You Can Use, and the Jazzin' the Blues book is good too.
If you are interested in the jazzier side of blues, I would highly recommend the All Blues For Jazz Guitar series by Jim Ferguson. There are now five books in it, but the essential two are All Blues For Jazz Guitar, which teaches the rythm and comping side, and the All Blues Soloing for Jazz Guitar, which teaches soloing, obviously. Both are very well done, come with cd's, teach you the theory behind what you are doing, and are chock full of examples. I believe that they are still available on the Mel Bay website, or Amazon.com usually has them.

Yes, indeed I have picked up this book and am having a great time with it. I just wish the cd tracks were longer, but other than that, this book is just what I was looking for to excelerate my playing.

Guitar World put out a special blues-only DVD and instructional book a couple of months ago for $10. You can still pick it up as a back issue:

It has a lot of good examples of shuffles and soloing styles. You also get to see the guy as he is playing which is useful for studying technique.
