i have everything but a mcintosh amp- so if i went this far i might as well get one. my biggest concern is weight--i have a line on a mc100 which is only 32 lbs which is manageable but is it a good mac to use? i read about people complaining that their fender twins are too loud(85 watts) and i know tube watts are louder than solid state but will the mc100 be loud enough and have enough headroom ? my bands plays mostly clubs and the occasional outdoor gigs- but the outdoor gigs they mike us all up anyway so im not that concerned about outdoors -so- thoughts and opinions on the mc100? thanks and peace

In a word, YES! I use a MC2100 and the MC100 is half of one of those . . . and half weight From what I understand these Macs (2100, 2105, 250, 2505, 100, 50) are all basically set up the same as the MC2300. 105 watts is more than enough. I only use half of mine and never have a problem from bars to festival stages getting enough out of it. MC100s are hard to find, if it works well, and the price is reasonable I'd jump on it.

I have 3 macs and the mc100 is the flagship of the group. Perfect wattage for what I do. Plus they are rare. If u don't buy it let me know I will!!

Do it...

If onstage you need more SPL, simply stand closer to your cabinet. It should be ideal. It's actually about 140 watts or so. It's a good weight too. That's doable.
