Saw them last night at teh beacon theatre. Live close to the venue walked down there got a 20 orch seat...12 row and dicky was great.

Question does anybody know who the keyboard player and the bass player are for dicky's band.....They blew me away last night. oh and the drummer on the right side of the stage was one of the best drummers i have ever seen.

i'm so pissed i missed that show...

Just out of curiousity, what kind of stuff did he play?

liz reed, one way out, blue sky, ramblin man, nobody left to run with anymore, all the dicky/allman bros greats, and he can still play. Ohhh franklins tower jam into blue sky.

ohhh back where it all begins and JESSICA...which was frekin great.

Sounds like good stuff. Betts is, with out a doubt, one of the greats.

i was thinkin last night that he probably plays the same songs every night with a little variation, just because those are the tunes people want to hear.

But....i will say it again the bass player, the keyboard player, the one drummer with dreads and dicky were really amazing. I have never been so into a drum solo.

Ohhh and dicky's son really riped it on a couple of tunes.

Don't know a whole lot about Dicky's non abb stuff but I've always liked 'good time feelin'. Real upbeat tune. He's a tremendous player.

I've been re-reading What A Long Strange Trip by McNally (for the 20th time or something silly!). And it gets to the part on Watkins Glen and Jerry was on stage playing with the Allmans and this was being told by Butch Trucks, Trucks said Jerry was being really competitive and just stepping all over Dickey, ripping him and soloing all over the place but then made the mistake of going into Johnny B Goode and Dickey kicked his ass! Made me laugh.

It shows competeitive jerry could be, he liked to push people on stage. But I know he and Dickey liked and repsected each other.

I lost the last bit of the then already waning interest in the Allmans when he went. I love his guitar playing, his timing and spacings are incredible and so fluid.

I saw Dickey a week or 2 ago, stood 5 foot away from him while he played liz reed, it was heaven.

I met him after the show pretty down to earth, now my guitar is signed by Warren and Dickey, now all i need is Derek
