God, I wish I could remember where I read it (Grateful Gear book maybe?), but very early on they were courted by Guild and given a bunch of instruments by Guild to screw with.Bobby, Jer and Phil all had multiples.

The story was in the Grateful Dead Gear Book about them being in NY and met by one of Guilds owners and taken to the factory in NJ. I am pretty certain that was later though.....68-70. That picture has to be from 66-67.
